Siemens is everywhere in your daily life, but you might not know it. From trains and transportation systems to industrial automation and even beer brewing, our technology touches every corner of the globe. But have you ever wondered how we develop these innovative technologies? In this talk, we'll share an exciting story of embracing open-source principles and practices to modernize software development within our organization. We've created an open-source Gitlab-powered social coding platform called "code.siemens.com", where developers from around the world can collaborate on projects. Our goal is to enable internal collaboration similar to the open-source world, fostering a culture of innovation, transparency, and community-driven development. By leveraging the power of open-source, we're not only improving our own software development process but also contributing to the global developer ecosystem.
