Environmental and Social (E&S) issues associated with business activities may present significant change to natural environment and biodiversity as well as impact to workers and surrounding communities. These impacts can result in negative publicity and operating license of a company. The session will introduce the common E&S risks derived from business operations and IFC Performance Standards used for the management of E&S risks and impacts. Additionally, the presenter will share his/her roles and responsibilities in the ESG Department and discuss the key competency required to work as an E&S specialist. The session will close with an advice on how to pursue and develop a career in international development followed by a Q&A session. This session will be in English.
