IFC has committed more than $82 billion of trade finance transactions since the inception of Global Trade Finance Program (GTFP) by onboarding more than 420 banks in 100 countries in emerging markets. This session will describe how IFC’s trade finance programs are supporting emerging markets banks to respond to the ongoing crisis through guarantee and advisory services. Makiko is heading the largest trade finance program among the Multilateral Development Banks and is a member of WTO’s Trade Finance Expert Working Group. She joined IFC in 2003.
